An Analysis based on the percentage of the total oxides present. Sometimes known as the Ultimate Analysis.

Phosphorus Pentoxide (P 2O5).
Used in small amounts it improves brilliance and increases opacity.
Common raw materials are Bone Ash and wood ash.
An acidic oxide.

Potassium oxide (K2O).
A strong flux with a high thermal expansion.
Common raw materials are Feldspar, Cornish Stone and Nepheline Syenite.
A basic oxide (Alkali).
