Magnesium oxide (MgO).
A high temperature flux which will decrease thermal expansion. Common raw materials are Magnesite, Talc and Dolomite.
It is found in most glazes. Common raw materials are Whiting, Wollastonite and Dolomite.
A basic oxide ( Alkaline Earth ).

Matt glazes are either partially devitrified or underfired. The surface of these glaze do not reflect and feel rough to the touch. Calcia, titania, zinc oxide are used to promote mattness.

A term used to describe the aggregate atomic weights of the elements in a molecule. Sometimes known as the Formula Weight.
